As an alternative to Music in the Parks, Music in the
Community will provide alternative ways to bring music to the community. They
are in the process of working out the details and lineup but see that link for
later updates.
Since level 2 all of
the cities playgrounds, parks and courts have re-opened with a few exceptions.
With level 3 starting even more facilities will be available for public use!

Madrona has picked their 10th Anniversary to
re-open after their closure due to Covid-19.
They will be featuring new works from their long standing
artists including Meghan Hildebrand, Clayton Anderson, Morgana Wallace,
Nicholas Bott, and many other.
On top of the new featured pieces some important historic
Canadian works will be on display to mark the occasion.
Part of Government Street will be car free starting today
until the fall.
The hope is to bring more pedestrian traffic through the
downtown to some of the re-opened shops and businesses. The initiative will
also let businesses open up more into the street for better social distancing.
After October 31st the city councilor’s wills reassess the project.
Drive in movie theatre is opening on the University of
Victoria for three nights. Films will be shown on a 40-foot screen with space
for 50 vehicles. The three films this weekend are Hook, The Life Aquatic and
The Breakfast Club.
Later dates will be announced for the next three films Cool
Running, Dirty Dancy and The Fifth Element.
