Part of a series of monthly talks the theme of this talk is BC Seamounts.

“Seamounts-underwater mountains that rise more than 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) from the seafloor – are offshore biodiversity hotspots.”

As little about these areas Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Haida Nation, Oceana Canada and Ocean Networks Canada embarked on an expedition to explore the seamounts near the island of Haida Gwaii. Discover that they found and the role the Royal BC Museum plays in safeguarding these specimens.

Enjoy this live competitive painting competition. Each painter gets 20 minutes to work while patrons move around the easel closely watching the creative process. At the end of each round the audience votes democratically for their favourite painting and bids in silent auction to take home the pieces.
